Perfect location right at the start of the shopping and dining area. The room was spacious and immaculate, with a lovely painted mural on the ceiling. The staff were super accommodating. They even offered me the best room available at a discounted rate. Breakfast had a good variety, although I wished for a few more hot options. The secure underground parking made things easier. I appreciated having air conditioning, especially since it was a hot week. My room faced a busy road, resulting in some noise with the window open, but I still managed to get a decent sleep. A bit more soundproofing would have been nice. A streetlight outside was bothersome at night because the curtains didn't completely block it out. The hotel had a unique architectural vibe with modern art pieces, but I would have liked to see more artwork in the rooms to match the theme. Definitely a great stay overall, with room for minor improvements.

Impeccably clean place with exceptionally nice stuff and lovely view of the surrounding hills. In the centre of the city, very convenient. Based near to the center of Heidelberg, the Christmas Market and all the tourist attractions and delicious German cuisine...

Packed with surprises, Good and Bad
Excellent hospitality staff. Breakfast options suited my gluten-free needs, and the spacious room overlooked a charming courtyard.
Some noise from outside disturbed my sleep as I faced the busy road. The steep stairs to my top-floor room were a challenge during check-in.

I liked how they preserved the original building and in addition put an interesting addition. Breakfast was good and reasonably priced. Parking was great. Neat decoration with artwork throughout the building.
Loved the super-modern design, but the bathroom setup was a little awkward as the door to the shower shared the same door as to the toilet. not for those who like 100% privacy in the toilet.

The Arthotel has a very central location in the city centre, only 5min walking from the main square. We had a "comfort" room which was spacious and stylishly modern. If you like a modern, taut design, this hotel is certainly worth staying at.
The wifi connection was €10 euro extra and wasn't functioning properly.

The hotel offers a wide range of services that are to high standards. The traveller arriving by car will appreciate the spacious parking. It is located right in the historic center allowing to return for a short rest once tiredness kicks in after sightseeing. Very friendly and correct staff (but avoid to show up late for breakfast; see below).
Check out at 11:00; even though we had been kindly allowed to extend. The lady at the breakfast buffet visibly had not been thrilled by us showing up at 11:00 (end of breakfast buffet) and had been hesitant to serve breakfast "a la carte" even though it is mentioned as an option on the list of services. Best solution, also in terms of quality: take breakfast outside at one of the numerous cafes.

The hotel's location is strategic, just steps away from a historic church and next to the university, perfect for exploring vibrant cultural spots nearby. Rooms feature excellent ceiling murals.
While the charm is undeniable, some common hiccups exist. Breakfast is priced at 19 euros, but the selection is sparse. You might need to ask for hot food. If you're sensitive to noise, rooms facing the busy road can be quite disruptive when the window is open, and the curtains don't do a great job of blocking out the streetlight. Some rooms come equipped with bathtub and shower combos, but if you prefer a powerful shower, you might find the handheld option less than ideal. A lack of art pieces in the rooms feels like a missed opportunity in a hotel that touts its artistic theme.

I stayed in this hotel many times, and I like it very much. There can however be some noisy rooms (students leaving the bars / garbage being collected), specifically if you leave the window open. Luckily the air conditioning works fine.
